Colorado Springs-area apartment rents set another record high during the second quarter and are approaching the $1,000-a-month mark.

Rents averaged $991.15 a month from April through June, increasing 10.2 percent – or nearly $92 – over the same period last year, according to a report by the Colorado Division of Housing and Apartment Association of Southern Colorado.

It was the fifth consecutive quarter that rents set a record high; rents also have increased for 26 straight quarters on a year-over-year basis, Housing Division records show.
